Kanisa Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited was established in 1981. The Mission of the SACCO is to promote thrift, prudent management, member participation and regular education, development of dynamic systems that will ensure growth, security of funds and encourage a positive organizational culture. It is a medium-sized SACCO whose current membership stands at over 2,500.
The Society wishes to appoint independent auditors to provide external audit services for the SACCO and its subsidiary for the financial year 2020. The main responsibility of the external auditors is to perform audits functions of the SACCO in accordance with International Auditing Standards (IAS) and the Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2004.
Requirements for the External Audit Services
In order to be considered for the named services, the following shall form minimum requirements: –
- Proof that the audit firm is approved by the Cooperative Department of the Ministry of Industrialization and Enterprise Development;
- The firm should be registered with ICPAK;
- The partners must be full time audit practitioners and in good standing with ICPAK;
- The firm should have been in practice for a period of not less than three (3) years;
- The firm must provide a valid business permit;
- The firm must demonstrate sufficient quality control measures;
- A detailed company profile showing the list of clients; at least three (3) of whom must be SACCOs who can stand as referees;
- List of partners and key staff curriculum vitae; and
- Current Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA
Interested audit firms that meet the above requirements are encouraged to apply in confidence and submit supporting documents and quoting their proposed audit fees. The application must be submitted to the Kanisa SACCO Limited Offices located at Desmond Tutu Conference Centre, 1st floor, AACC Compound, off Waiyaki Way, Westlands on or before Friday 6th March, 2020 by 5.00 p.m.
